July 27, 2015-

Shelby County crews were dispatched to the 6500 block of Johnson-Slagle Road around 11:45 Saturday night after a vehicle was reported hit by a train.  The driver, Kirby Ray Stahler, 34, told deputies he attempted to avoid a deer before his Chevrolet Cruse became disabled on the tracks and was hit by a train a few minutes later.  The car was dragged bout a half-mile, Stahler was outside the vehicle and wasn't injured.  Deputies are skeptical of Stahler's story, later arrested Stahler for OVI.
