May 20, 2013: St. Marys, OH  - According to Sheriff Al Solomon, deputies received a call at 6:37 a.m. Sunday morning from a female saying that a friend of hers was holding a 15 month old child hostage and threatening to commmit suicide.

Auglaize County Deputies along with St. Marys Police officers arrived at the home and were able to establish communication with the suspect who was identified as Jonathan E. Halbisen, 30 of St. Marys.

Also responding to the scene was the Auglaize County Special Response Team.  Eventually deputies and officers were able to convince Halbisen to surrender without incident. A weapon, a shotgun was recovered and the child was unharmed.

Halbisen was found to be intoxicated and was transported to the Auglaize County Correctional Facility where he remains and will appear in Augalzie County Court sometime today.

No other information hasbeen released at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
