Greenville Man Indicted

November 19, 2015

Tyler L. Holzapfel, 23, from Greenville, remains free on his own recognizance following arraignment Monday regarding felony charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and failure to stop after an accident, as well as other misdemeanor charges of driving under suspension and furnishing alcohol to a minor. Holzapfel was indicted by  a Darke County Grand Jury earlier this month.

Samuel J. Barga, 19 of Greenville, was pronounced dead at the scene of an August 1 accident.  He was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by Holzapfel.  Darke County Sheriff's Deputies said Holzapfel fled the scene but was later found.

Holzapfel is scheduled to appear December 16 for a pretrial hearing in Darke County Common Pleas Court.
