Cridersville Burglars Caught Near Dayton

July 21, 2014-

At least two men who broke into Steve Myers Service on S. Dixie Highway in Lima were caught.  A Riverside officer pulled over an SUV for a traffic violation.  Inside were 20 stolen chain saws worth $10,000, said Chief John Drake of the Cridersville Police Department.

Drake was contacted and spent most of the day in Riverside conducting an investigation. He has identified the individuals who pried open the door to the service center and plans to file charges in the next week or two.

The burglary occurred around 12:15 am, when an alarm alerted police.  A Cridersville officer responded within minutes but the burglars were gone, Drake said.

The back door had been pried open and 20 chainsaws were taken.
