Marijuana Petition Hits Roadblock

March 3 , 2015-

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is rejecting a proposed amendment that would legalize marijuana use in the state.  "Responsible Ohio", the group that submitted a written petition to DeWine's office February 13, did obtain 1,000 valid registered voter signatures, but also offered two defects in the summary language.  A statement from DeWine's office states, "the summary language omits that the proposed amendment permits the sharing of specified amounts between adults 21 years old and older."  It also reads, "The summary language does not accurately reflect the manner in which proposed taxes would be distributed."
