Skin Cancer on the Increase

July 31, 2014-

According to a new report released, since 1973,  skin cancer cases have increased by more than 200%.  Doctors urge everyone to apply sunscreen 15-30 minutes prior to going outdoors and re-apply throughout the day, especially to the face.  Parents of infants are urged to keep the babies out of the sun.  Cover the child with a light cloth if outside, in shade. Hats are also a good practice for all ages.  The hat should have at least a 3 inch brim.  Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer and 9 thousand people die each year from the most preventable disease.
