Traffic Camera Enforcement Upheld

December 19 , 2014-

The Supreme Court justices ruled 4-3 to uphold their 2008 ruling to allow cities to use cameras to catch speeding drivers and red light runners, and to handle drivers' appeals through administrative procedures.

The ruling was challenged by a Toledo driver who felt that the city of Toledo improperly bypassed the courts by handling ticket cases through an "administrative hearing procedure" and that violated his due process rights.
