Wombolt Pleads Guilty

Bryan D. Wombolt, 28, a former Auxiliary Deputy for the Darke County Sheriff's Patrol, pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Wombolt was providing security at Greenville High School during the 2013-2014 school year when he began talking and texting with a student. The two admitted to having sexual relations last February after Wombolt's fiance found texts on his cell phone and alerted the Darke County Sheriff's Office. An investigation began by the Greenville Police Department and the Darke County Sheriff's Office. Wombolt was terminated from his position.
The state will recommend 3 years in prison for Wombolt. After he serves his sentence, Wombolt will have to register as a sex offender for 25 years.
