Teen Pleads Not Guilty in Elida H.S. Threat
May 6, 2015
A 15 year-old male accused of leaving a note threatening a shooting would happen at Elida High School has entered a denial plea. The plea is the equivalent of a not guilty plea if he were in adult court. The charge is inducing panic, which is a felony.
The incident happened March 25. A student found the note in the restroom and turned it in to a teacher who then notified administrators. The note claimed a shooting would happen around 2 pm that day. The school was placed on lockdown for about 90 minutes.
Officials and investigators reviewed security footage of students entering and exiting the bathroom throughout the day, eventually leading them to the student. When questioned, the student admitted the note was a prank.
