Open Container Bill Back for Another Run

March 6, 2015-

If a bill re-introduced in the Ohio Senate becomes law, adult drinkers would be allowed to drink alcoholic beverages in outdoor entertainment districts without the risk of being ticketed for carrying open containers.  The designated drinking areas would operate similar to Bourbon Street in New Orleans or Beale Street in Memphis.  After a similar bill failed late last year, two state senators from Cincinnati, R-Biil Seitz and D-Cecil Thomas, have brought back the idea of allowing cities and townships to establish "outdoor refreshment areas".
