I’m a radio vet who’s been in the business since 1988. Originally from Cleveland, I’ve worked all over Ohio. Cleveland, Canton, Youngstown, Toledo, Findlay, and now in here in Celina. I've been working the Morning Show at K 94 – WKKI since December of 2005. I am a big music and movie fan. My favorites are mostly 80's rock groups. Bon Jovi, Poison, Whitesnake, Motley Crue,...you get the idea. Hair bands! But I also like Duran Duran, The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the new stuff from Santana. I have an open mind with it comes to rock. I even listen to a little bit of country music too. But I’m not really into rap though. Some of my favorite movies are… Braveheart, Back To The Future, Star Wars (Yep...all 6) and Lord Of The Rings...just to name a few. I've been writing screenplays since 1999.
One of these days I'm going to get out of the radio biz and go into movies. I've always longed to make movies. Someday it will happen.

About Me: I was born in Coldwater, Ohio and grew up in Celina. I attended college at Findlay University and then landed my first radio job in 1984. I got a radio job in Canon City, Colorado in 1986 and worked there until 1999, when I got a job doing television traffic reporting in Colorado Springs. I worked there for one year and then got a job at a classic rock station in the Springs where I worked until 2004. It was then that I was turned on to the sport of Disc Golf, which I encourage everyone to try! After my tenure there I started working as a creative services director at a country station, still in Colorado Springs. The station was recently bought out. After much consideration and the fact that I missed my family after 22 years out of the state...I decided it was time to come home. To my amazement (and my good fortune) upon arrival there was an opening here at WKKI. I have been here since January and have to say this is a great staff with fine people. I am very happy about my decision to come home and look forward to being your company in the mornings (6a-10a) for some time to come!

Sam is married and is a native of Van Wert, Ohio and has spent time working in various broadcast facilities in the region in both radio and television.
Sam has a degree in electronics technology from Wright State University and has been in broadcasting since 1981 working in radio in Van Wert, Celina, Lima, Findlay, Fostoria, and Kenton in Ohio and in radio and television in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Radio jobs include working on the air as a DJ, working on the air in News, talk show host, and studio and transmitter engineer.
TV jobs include: anchor, reporter, videographer and assignment editor.
Hobbies: ice hockey and videogames.
Favorite bands: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Genesis
Favorite concert: Peter Gabriel at Hara Arena, 11/18/82
What I’d be doing if I weren’t in radio: Working at Wal-Mart or repeating the phrase “would you like to supersize your order?” |
